Boeing Strike Ends as Workers Accept Contract, Stock Dips Slightly
Boeing's prolonged labor strike at its St. Louis defense operations has concluded after workers ratified a new contract. The agreement includes a $6,000 signing bonus per employee and a 24% average wage increase over the contract term. Despite the resolution, Boeing shares edged lower in Thursday's trading session.
Steve Parker, Boeing's defense chief, underscored the precarious nature of the deal, hinting at future uncertainties. "This is not something we will be able to guarantee moving forward," he cautioned. The settlement affects all 3,200 members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union District 837.
